Some of us stopped writing things down because someone might read them.

So we made a place that is only yours.

The little moments you’d forget, kept, just as they were.

Some days you can’t find the words. So just say them.

hold to talk

It was so still you could hear the ducks settling in the reeds.

The lake, again

Went back to the cold lake before work. Nobody else was there, just the mist lifting off the water and a heron that didn’t care about me at all.

I think I’ll keep doing this. Three mornings in a row now.

3rd morning!

My hands were numb for an hour and I didn’t mind. The cold makes everything else quiet.

what the water sounded like

“…you can hear it lapping at the stones, and a dog barking somewhere across the water…”

“You don’t have to be brave. You just have to walk in.”

3rd morning!

You don’t have to write every day. Quiet days count too.

No streaks. No guilt. A rest day is drawn in, never missed.

Nobody reads it. Not even us.

When did I last feel this calm?

Mostly on mornings by the water. The last time was Saturday, when you wrote “the cold makes everything else quiet.” Before that, three mornings in March 2025, each one after a swim.

One day you’ll want to remember this year, and it will all still be here.

a small note

There are pages I will never read.

Written late at night, in Dew, a quiet period tracker I made for someone I love. Between the days she marked tired and the days she marked nothing at all.

I don’t know if they were sad. I don’t know if one of them was about me. I’ll never know. I built it that way, and I would build it that way again.

But dew was never meant to hold this much. It lands, it shines for a moment, and the sun takes it away. Her words deserved somewhere that would keep them.

So I made the moss.

Every morning the dew comes down and settles into it. And the moss holds on.

If you’ve been carrying something for a long time, you can set it down here. Nobody is looking. Nobody ever will.

with love,
— A
