when you can’t find the words
How do I keep a voice journal on my iPhone, privately?
In Moss, you hold to talk. Your voice is kept on the page as a voice note, and your iPhone writes out the words underneath. The listening and the writing happen on your iPhone, never on a server, and there is no account to make.
Some days are easier to say
Typing can feel like too much at the end of a long day. Saying it out loud, on the walk home or in bed with the lights off, is often closer to what you meant. A voice journal lets you keep that, in your own voice.
How it works
Open today’s page and hold to talk. Let go when you’re done. The recording stays on the page, so a year from now you can hear how you sounded, not only what you said. The words appear underneath, so the page can be read, searched and found again.
Speech is turned into words by Apple’s on-device speech recognition. If your language can’t be recognised on the iPhone, Moss tells you, rather than send your voice anywhere.
Where your voice goes
Nowhere but your own devices. Voice notes are kept on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your own iCloud, which only your Apple Account can open. There is no Moss server, so we never hear them.
You can keep Moss behind Face ID or your own Moss code, and give any journal its own code.
More than a recording
A voice note sits on the same page as your words, photos, video and stickers, so a day can hold all of it. Pick a sky for how the day felt. Later, if your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence, you can ask your own pages a question; it works on the iPhone and offline.

Is my voice sent to a server to be transcribed?
No. Moss uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition, so the words are written on your iPhone. If your language can’t be recognised on the device, Moss says so instead of sending your voice anywhere.
Does Moss keep the recording or only the text?
Both. Hold to talk keeps the voice note on the page and writes the words underneath.
Can anyone else listen to my voice notes?
No. They stay on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your own iCloud. There is no Moss server, and you can lock Moss with Face ID or your own code.
Do I need an account?
No. Moss has no account, no login and no sign-up.
